Aztec Sweet Herb - Lippia dulcis 4 inch

Perennial herb to 1-6 inches. It was known as "Tzopelic Xlhuitl" by the Aztecs and used as a natural sweetener and medicinally. Leaves contain the intensely sweet compound hernandulcin, which is 1000 times sweeter than sugar. A high Camphor content limits the use of it for a commercial sweetener. White flowers can bloom from spring to fall. Full sun to part shade. Native to Mexico and Florida.
