Deciduous tree with a usual height of 50-60 ft., can reach 150 feet. Has a broad, rounded crown. Sometimes the leaves turn yellow in fall. Edible nuts are small on raw native stock, and larger on grafted varieties and ripen in September-October. Good tree for erosion control along waterways. Native to the Midwest and the South in the United States. Also available in 15 gallon containers for $59.50 each.
