Pond Cypress - Taxodium ascendens (Tax. distichum var. nutans)

Deciduous conifer with a height of 80 feet or more. Leaves are awl-shaped, usually appressed and spirally arranged. Does not grow in water like Bald Cypress does. Native from Delaware to Florida and Louisiana.
